Artist Retreat- Saint Lucia, Kwazulu Natal

The following project was to create a small rural weekend shelter for the artist, Willie Bester (One of South Africa's most important resistance artists). Here, in the retreat, he would regenerate his spirit and renew his creative thoughts and output. He incorporates recycled material into his paintings and sculptures.

The context was to be in a Sub- Tropical Climate of Saint Lucia, Kwazulu Natal ( South Africa).

The build was to be 80m squared maximum, excluding external covered areas.
It should be sustainable.
It should Incorporate Contemporary Colours.
There should be no furniture. Everything should fold- away.
It should Contain an open, light and big studio.
There should be entertainment for guests.
A bathroom with Experience.
A tiny area to eat and cook.
Fully designed Landscaping.
